We set apart for dedication this Veteran's Memorial, in the Name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. AMEN. O, God, by Whose Gracious Providence we celebrate the dedication of this Memorial in Your Name and to the Veterans of the various brances of the services of the United States of America: Send down, we pray, Your Heavenly blessing both on this place and on all those for whom it represents. Lord Give, forgive us for the time we have not spent remembering: remembering those whom we sent to fight for us, remembering those who gave yeas of their life for freedom, remembering those who died in the quest for liberty, remembering those who gave everything they had in a battle with the forces of evil to achieve world peace. Allow this place to be a Memorial of their courage, their dignity, and honor. We pray for all the men and women for whom this Memorial represents. We have given the souls of those who have died into Your care; we also commit the spirits and well being of those who live with the scars of battle both mental and physical. Allow our words to lift them up to You for Your Heavenly care on each of their days. Gracious God and Father, we come before You now pleading for those who are fighting and for those who soon will be called to battle on our behalf. Let this Memorial serve to keep them in our thoughts and prayers. They too are Your children. Watch over them with Your eyes that never sleep, and protect them with Your Almighty power. As they go into battle or are engaged in combat, give them strength and courage to face each crisis, relying on Your providential care. Through each trying experience draw them closer to You. In moments of desperation help them find the calm assurance of Your presence. Almighty God, You have given us this good land as our heritage. Grant that we remember Your generosity and constantly do Your will. Bless our land with honest industry, truthful education, and an honorable way of life. Save us from violence, discord and confusion, from pride and arrogance, and from every evil course of action. Make us who come from many nations with many different languages a united people. Defend our liberties, and give those whom we have entrusted with the authority of government: our President, Congress Members, Supreme Court along with the Governor, Congress and Court System of this State of California, the spirit of wisdom that there is justice and peace in our land. Especially in these troubled times with wars and rumors of wars, do not let our trust in You fail. With the dedication of this Memorial we also plead with You O Father, on behalf of all people everywhere in the world. Put and end to war and violence. Persuade the leaders of all nations; especially those who are engaged in conflict or acts of terrorism to come before the world with offers of peace. We ask for nothing short of a miracle in a change of heart and mind, break the stone hearts of those who desire oppression of anyone. Confound the thoughts of any leader who proclaims himself in opposition to liberty and freedom. Dedicate our lives to the promotion of peace and goodwill among all people everywhere that an end of conflict will reign in the world and all people everywhere will be free to worship You in quietness and rest. We beg You O God of our fathers', make this the last Memorial that will ever need to be built. Yet we know that for the benefit of the elect, evil is allowed its time in this world. Make us ever grateful then for the men and women, our Veterans, whom we honor before You today, pour upon them the continual dew of Your blessing. All this we bring to You O Father, in the Name of Your Son our Savior Jesus Christ. AMEN.
BENEDICTION The Lord Bless you and keep you. The Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you. The Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. AMEN.
